Maria is a first-generation college graduate from Augsburg University. She graduated with a B.A. in Management Information Systems and a minor in Philosophy. Maria has grown up working, volunteering and being part of the nonprofit world by participating in various community nonprofits. Her passion is to help the community and nonprofits in any way possible. Maria’s approach is to work with clients and community members, tapping into the knowledge and wisdom they already possess.

Why is working at a social impact-based company important to you?
All my life I have always wanted to make sure whatever work I did would help or benefit others in any sort of way possible. I want to be an example for those who see me as their role model and what better way to do that than by doing it on a daily basis with the work I do.
If time travel were possible, where would you go and why?
If I could time travel I would travel 100 years from now to see what exactly our society and environment would look like. Also, to make sure we have made some sort of advance in making the world more accepting to a diverse and inclusive community.
What’s on your playlist while you’re at work?
I can listen to anything and be productive, anything ranging from classical music to underground rap music.
What does your perfect Saturday morning look like?
My perfect Saturday would consist of a good night’s sleep, going on an early walk with my two beautiful puppies, having a very delicious meal and enjoying the rest of the day by reading a good book or attending an event that may be of interest to me.
